Save the Date! Repowering Montana’s Communities: Local Energy Solutions Conference

May 18-19, 2011–Helena, MT

Across Montana, communities are taking action to meet the huge challenges of rising energy costs and global climate change. Leaders in city, county, and tribal governments are looking to conservation and renewable energy to not only cut energy costs, but to create local jobs, build our nation’s energy independence, and protect our clean air, water, and the landscapes we cherish.

This second annual two-day conference hosted by AERO will showcase the emerging role community leaders are taking in energy conservation efforts and will share how you can get things moving in your town.

Program highlights:

  • Case studies of local government and community-based energy efficiency and renewable energy projects
  • Options for financing energy efficiency and renewable energy investments
  • Tools for measuring and monitoring energy consumption and emissions
  • Networking among energy professionals and communities leaders who are working to build the resilience and sustainability of their own towns and neighborhoods

Who should plan to attend:

  • Mayors, city and county commissioners, tribal government leaders
  • Local government staff, department managers, fleet supervisors, facility managers, wastewater treatment facility operators
