In 1994 the Good Earth Market opened its doors at the site of Billings oldest grocery store, located at 3115 10th Ave, N between the hospitals and Pioneer Park. The market is a not-for-profit whole foods grocery store that offers foods produced or grown locally, sustainably and primarily organically. The product mix includes local meats, fresh organic produce, bulk foods, fresh baked products, microbrews and organic wines, supplements and body care products, recycled paper products and natural household cleaners. The market staff is glad to inform customers on the origin and quality of our food, including the names of local ranchers who raise our meat and chicken and the local packers who process the meats. The same quality food sold in the store goes into making delicious entrees, wraps, salads, and spreads in the Markets take-out deli. Customers enjoy sandwiches made from local meat roasted in the deli, homemade soups, wraps, a variety of salads and the now-famous homemade hummus. The market is a cooperative with low annual dues. The public is welcome to shop and need not be a member. Membership conveys a variety of benefits including extensive sales, coupons, special ordering, senior discount, and working member discounts.
