Sugar Loaf Wool Carding Mill, LLC

211 Lower Willow Creek Road, Hall Montana 59837

Ed and Sue James started Sugar Loaf Wool Carding Mill April 21, 2000. Also local ranchers and business entrepreneurs, Ed and Sue wanted to provide an outlet for wool grown by local producers. They take the raw wool and process it in their facility, turning it into wool batts and rovings, pillows, mattress covers, and comforters. All of the finished products are hand sewn. Visitors are welcome to view the wool carding process. School children, quilt guilds, retired teachers, spinning and weaving guilds, and many tourists have enjoyed learning how wool is processed and why wool is a wonderful fiber.

Sugar Loaf Wool processes Suffolk wool into batting . Montana wool is used for our products. Wool is scoured three time in 160 degree water. Water is heated with a solar system. First and second bowl dawn dishwashing soap, third bowl Shaklee Basic H. Rinsed and dried then carded into bats.
