AERO and Abundant Montana Welcome New Staff

AERO’ is delighted to welcome five new staff members to its Abundant Montana program’s team! Anthony Pavkovich and Tracee Hume are our new Communication Coordinators, and Kelsey Miller, Sarah Eiden and Michal DeChellis are joining as our regional Local Food Coordinators. Michal also served as AERO’s Montana Food Economy Initiative (MFEI) Program Manager in 2021, and we are thrilled to have her expand her role with us. Abundant Montana (AMT)’s Communications Coordinators are responsible for AMT’s promotional communications and fulfilling purchased marketing services – they create all our social media posts, blogs and newsletters. This summer you’ll see their work in our forthcoming print Local Food Guide. In a word, they are amazing!

Our regional Local Food Coordinators (LFCs) are located across the state and act as “boots on the ground” AMT representatives. Currently we now have LFCs  in five regions: Central Montana/Great Falls,  Flathead Valley/Glacier Country,  Five Valleys/Southwest MT, Gallatin Valley/Yellowstone country, and the Fort Belknap Reservation. We are still interviewing for a Local Food Coordinator for the Billings/Southeast MT region.

Our LFCs are focused on developing local food business relationships where they live, ensuring these relationships are impactful for AMT’s food business partners and AMT’s mission. Our LFCs actively seek out opportunities to educate and promote the value of local food and the AMT marketing and media hub, particularly as a means to help local food and farming businesses succeed. They get to know the local food “scene” where they live, including identifying stories that matter to the community, which AMT then can share out across the state. The goal is that, with time, our LFCs become recognized and valued within their regions as a local food information resource, expert, and business connector, supporting local efforts that are building community food businesses and food webs where they live.

We are thrilled that Abundant Montana’s new marketing and media hub has a growing positive impact across the state as Montana’s local food megaphone. Our goal is to grow the demand for local food and help MT’s local food and farming businesses succeed with increased sales and connections. Currently, we have over 800 listings on the site and our dedicated promotional efforts have built a reach of over 59,000 social media users annually, with 4,500 followers on FB and IG.
