For 49 years AERO has created lasting foundational impact by filling knowledge gaps with solution-based resources at two leading edges: renewable energy, beginning in the 1970s, and stewardship agriculture and nourishing community food webs, beginning in the 1980s.
As we enter our 50th year, we commit to a third leading edge: building a resilient and reliable Montana food system for ALL Montanans.
As of 2021 Montana produced only 3% of its own food supply. That’s down from 70% in 1950, and there’s no indication that the decline has yet stopped. At AERO, we’re all in on using our considerable resources and legacy to reverse the trend.
That’s why we’ve got an audacious goal of getting 33% Montana food on ALL Montana plates by 2033. Won’t you join us? What can YOU do in your sphere of influence to help make this happen?
We’re claiming the commitment by starting with an End of Year goal of raising $33,000 by December 31. That number includes an $11,165 cash match that unlocks our $478K USDA Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program grant – AERO was the only Montana-based organization that received this program grant!
We believe in all of you, our community of sustainability enthusiasts! Join us in this opportunity to work together towards a future with a resilient, reliable and nourishing Montana food system for all Montanans!
This giving season, please consider a gift that keeps giving! You can designate your contribution to go towards our cash match by writing “grant cash match” in the comments section when you donate. Every donated dollar will have four times the impact of your regular donation as it will be matched by the federal funding.
With gratitude,
Your AERO & Abundant Montana Team
