In December 2020, informed by multiple pilot projects, MFEI’s advisory board supported 12 community food system projects across the state. Community members and their MFEI advisory board mentors developed projects designed to support building more equitable and resilient food systems where they live. Projects fall within five frameworks:
Alongside community-based projects, MFEI also supported a position facilitating youth & young professional-led intertribal food sovereignty network building through the Montana Indigenous Food Sovereignty Initiative (MIFSI).
On Friday, May 21, 5:30-7:30pm, the MFEI network of advisors, project teams and MIFSI will share their outcomes. Project leaders will share videos and stories describing their projects, learnings and next steps.
