Montana Resilient Food System Spotlight
In 2025 the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) partnered with Montana to award $3.1 million for eight Montana projects through the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI), designed to build resilience across the middle of the supply chain and strengthen local and regional food systems.

- Central Montana Food Hub – Harlowton. Warehouse and processing facility.
- Farmented Foods – Belgrade. Enhanced production systems
- Mission West Community Development Partners – Ronan. Facility modification for enhanced co-packing capacity.
- O’Hara Commons & Sustainability Center – Hamilton. Local food access expansion in Ravalli County.
- Root Cellar Foods – Belgrade. Expanding and enhancing processing capabilities.
- The Farmers’ Stand – Whitefish. Increase processing, storage, distribution and marketing of local and regional specialty crops.
- Western MT Growers Coop – Missoula. Facility modification for enhanced cold storage, transportation capacity and worker safety.
- Yellowstone Valley Food Hub – Billings. Facility modification for enhanced aggregation, storage and distribution.
